Curious about how we can improve the quality of your website, app or platform?
You can use many tools and website builders to design a website, but I chose Webflow. The websites I created for Webflow often had slow loading speeds, depended on many plugins, and as a web designer with no extensive knowledge of code, I was always bound by the limits of the themes I used. But because of Webflow, all those problems have disappeared like snow in the sun! 😄
Meet Webflow 🤝
Because I ran into some problems, I started looking for other website builders. A builder where I wasn't tied to a theme, where I wasn't dependent on plugins, and most importantly, a builder that works quickly and where I can make adjustments easily and quickly.
After comparing many tools and browsing the web, I ended up at Webflow. This was exactly the tool I needed because, it gives me so much creative freedom. Not only can I make anything I want, how I want it. It's also super fast and easy to use. So this allows me to create beautiful, fast websites that are fully in line with the style that my clients have and that also score well at the SEO level.
“Thanks to Webflow, all those problems have disappeared like snow in the sun!”
Webflow vs. Website Builders ⚔️
People love to compare and I couldn't resist not doing it either. So I just listed the pros and cons for you.
Design freedom
One of my main reasons for switching. I always compare Weblflow's Designer to Adobe Illustrator, you start with a blank canvas, with only your tools in view. In WordPress, for example, this is a possibility, but you need a plugin that gives you access to a visual editor such as Visual Composer or Elementor. In addition, these visual editors must also match the theme you want to use. And those plugins also need updates, if you don't update them, your website will become obsolete and you run the risk that it will stop working. In Webflow, there are no plugins and no updates. Everything is always up to date. So ideal!
Code quality
In website builders, you often see that multipurpose themes are used. These are themes designed for multiple industries. These types of themes contain a lot of memory and therefore take up quite a bit of space. This ensures that the website is not as fast as they could be. In addition, the necessary plugins ensure that the website requires even more memory. Webflow's code does not depend on plugins and how clean the code is is is up to you. So it's my job to use as little code as possible to design the website.
SEO
Of course, search engine optimization is one of the most important things about a website. Because you can have the nicest, fastest website, but if it isn't found, it's no use. A bit similar to all those beautiful sports cars that come out three times a year and are then gasping dust inside for the rest of the days. That is not what the website is intended for, that website must be found. WordPress and Webflow both have good SEO tools, but again, in WordPress, you are dependent on a plugin such as YoastSEO. Webflow has integrated this into its backend. In addition, Webflow is also extremely friendly for mobile devices, and Google gives you extra points for that.
Safety
Safety is an important part of websites. Not keeping your website up to date can have adverse effects on how your website works. But it is not only harmful to its functioning, it is also detrimental to safety. If a website is not maintained properly, the outdated plugins become security risks. I assume that's something you don't want. Because there are no plugins in Webflow, you do not run this risk. In addition, Webflow offers free SSL and the websites are constantly monitored.
A simple content management system (CMS)
WordPress has the best-known CMS, but it's the most used one, by the way. But it is not the simplest. As a user, you often have access to features you don't need and this can quickly lead to confusion. Webflow's CMS is clean, contains no unnecessary functions and is easy to use. This way, you won't end up in places you don't need to go, and you don't have to worry about changing or deleting something important.
“So Webflow is a great design tool and also a hosting provider that provides top quality hosting.”
Best hosting ✔️
There are many more benefits to choosing Webflow, for example, they use the best hosting available at the moment, Amazon Web Services, with an uptime of 99.99%! So Webflow is a great design tool and also a hosting provider that provides top quality hosting.
You may already feel it coming, Webflow is my go-to tool for designing websites. In 9 out of 10 cases, I wouldn't go back to another CMS either, only if there is a very good reason not to use Webflow.
Haven't I convinced you of the benefits of Webflow yet? Then check out my projects. Then I'll let my work speak for me. 😉
